This morning is the Tri Run. Also the first of the 3 runs during the month of August. Two weeks later will be Army Half Marathon and two weeks after that will be Run NUS.
10km run at Choa Chu Kang. From Brickland road to Bukit Batok road and u turn back to give 5km. 10km runners are to run 2 laps. There is also a slight upslope at Bukit Batok road, but it was downhill for the last 2km. Starting time is 0830 hrs. Pretty late.
Woke up at 0620 hrs to prepare. Did the normal preparation, did not even bring drinks on site. Just brought my nathan race belt with no water bottle. There should be ample water at the various water point. Left home at around 0705 hrs, reach carpark 483A around 0745 hrs. We planned to meet at starting point at around 0800 hrs.
Sam was already there at the starting point when i reached there. Kok Meng came and followed by Yuen See. Only 4 runners signed up for this run.
The 21km runners are flag off at around 0745 hrs. Luckily i did not "kay-kiang" and signed up for the 21km. By the time i finished, it would be later than 1035 hrs.
The 10km flag off at 0843 hrs. Kok Meng and Sam zoom off ahead. I followed Yuen See as usual. After the 4km mark, Yuen See stopped for a drink while i grab the drink and continue running. The sun came up at around the 5km mark and it was starting to get hot. At around the 9th km mark, was thinking that i may have a chance to came in under sub 1 and try to increase my pace. But it was not enough and i ease off after my HR hit a high of 190 during the last few hundred meters.
Came in slightly after 1 hour.
