0515 is the flag off time this year. Woke up at 0240 hrs. Did the usual preparation. Brought 2 packets of power gel and one water bottle for my fuel belt. Left home at 0315 hrs to pick up Soo at Bishan. No overslept like last year this time, after picking him up at 0330 hrs, went to Bedok Reservior View to pick up Khoo and his friend at around 0345 hrs.
Reach SMU admin carpark at 0410 hrs as agreed with Eddie, but this time, carpark is closed and the sign says that carpark is closed from 0000 hrs to 0600 hrs. After waiting for Eddie to appear, we decide to park at Raffles City Shopping centre.
Went to toilet and proceed to the start point. Managed to find a spot that is quite near the start point with Eddie. The horn went off 5 minutes early. The weather is very humid and shirt was soaking wet within the first few km. Ran with Eddie for almost 8km.
After that i decide not to push myself too hard, no point getting myself into trouble and ask Eddie to proceed ahead without me. Time was about 1 hr for 8km.
As usual, water point stretch for very long. Due to the large number of runners, most of the time, need to wait for the army guys to fill up the water or 100 plus.
100 plus are mostly cold also.
So proceed to do jog and walk for the rest of the 1 hr and 45 minutes. Took 1 power gel at each hour mark.
Cross the finished line at around 2 hrs and 44 minutes. Collected my finisher medal and drank 2 cans of 100 plus. I even stop to shoot the football in one of the booth and was given Salonpas.
Went back quickly to the car and changed up, then proceed to meet the rest of my colleague. Eddie, Khoo and his friend was there waiting. Went back to Raffles City and have breakfast at the foodcourt with Khoo and his friend.
Left the carpark at 0950 hrs. Carpark charges is around $6.60. Reach home at 1015 hrs.
As usual, most probably i will be back next year.
