SET ST536v6 to bridge mode.

Finally completed the switch from starhub to singnet 8Mbps.
Set the thomson speedtouch modem to bridge mode. Set username/password in my dlink router.

Below is gotten from one of the HWZ threads.

Please follow the instructions below:


To set the modem to bridge mode, please ensure that your PC is connected
directly to the SpeedTouch.


If you have previously set up the modem to connect to the internet, you
will need to disconnect it using a web browser.
Go to http://192.168.1.254 and Under Broadband connection, click on
'Disconnect' button.


Leave the browser window open.


To perform a telnet to the modem, click on (Start, select "Run..." and
type in:


cmd[Enter]
(for Windows 98se or Windows Millennium, type: command [Enter] )


if the command is successful, you should see a black color DOS screen.


Type in the following
telnet 192.168.1.254[Enter]

Username : Administrator
Password : *********** ( leave blank or the serial number of your modem, all in upper case e.g = CP... )

• After done the bridge setting, Unplug the LAN cable from your computer and connect to your router Internet Port.

ST Modem -> Router -> PC

* Access your router homepage for e.g. Linksys router homepage address = http://192.168.1.1
* Key in your SingNet Username and password in your router. Please set your router to PPoE in order to enable this option.

To revert back to Router mode, you need to reset the modem.
To reset, you need to insert a sharp object into the Reset hole behind the
modem, press and hold it there for about 8~10sec.
You should see the Power, Ethernet and USB led light up together.
This means the modem has been reset.
