New Balance Real Run 2008.

First of all, the "Real" in the Real Run stand for
Regular
Exercise
Active
Lifestyle.

Woke up at 5am for the Real Run and drove the Changi Exhibition Centre. Drove along TPE, exit into Loyang Ave and go all the way and turn left into Aviation Park Road.

Since they advise reaching before 6.30am. Reach there around 6.15am. No problem finding a parking lot.

My first real run. 15km distance. Finishing at a slow 1 hr 56 min.

Weather was HOT, but i like it. Worst if it rains, then everything including shoes, shorts, shirts will be muddy.

First 4km trail was energy sapping without shelter. First time running such long distance on sands and rocky surface. Biggest fear is to step on uneven ground and sprain the ankle. Luckily nothing like that happen.
After the energy sapping trail, slowed down to recover energy. Pop a packet of power gel at 7.5km mark.
Was glad that i brought my Nathan Fuel Belt as i can refill 100+ at the water point and can sipped along the way.
Nice that there is cool 100+ at water point. Took the advise of somebody here and ran near the water line at the beach stretch. Much easier to run than the sandy beaches.
After recovering and getting into rhythm, the ending stretch at avation park road is not so jialat and actually my last 2km is faster than my middle stretch.

Good organisation.
1) no queue at collection point
2) cool 100+ at water point
3) ice cold can of 100+ at ending point
4) air con resting area
5) since i came early and left late, no jam when arriving and leaving.

Will be joining next year.
