Mizuno Wave Run 2008 - to be updated

Today is Mizuno Wave Run 2008.
After last year poorly organised Wave Run, decide to give VGO a final chance and sign-up this year again.

It has been raining these past few days. Luckily it did not rain on Saturday. Otherwise the running path will be very muddy.

Woke up at 5am. Get prepared and drove to the nearby hdb carpark (blk 898a) opposite the starting point, Temasek Polytechnic.

Reach there are around 6:15am. Message 3 of my colleague saying that I've reach the meeting place, East Gate.

While on the way there, there was slight drizzling. Luckily, the sky did not open up and for the whole run, it was cool and cloudy.

There was proper baggage counter this time, instead of 2 lorries where they dump all the baggage in last year.

It was a great improvement compare to last year. The difference between the distance markers and my polar rs200sd watch is less than 30m for the first 9km. The last km is actually 1.3km according to some sgrunners folks.

As for the run, some pathway was quite narrow and quite a number of runners ran on the road instead. Did a quite consistent 6 mins per km. Before the race, i've told my colleague that i would be giving those that cross the finish line before me a free breakfast.

For the first few km, i thought i was already quite fast. I could not believe my eyes when i saw one of my colleague (Mr Khoo) at the 8.2km mark. If the race is 8km, i would have lost to him. After overtaking him, i speeded up and was glancing every runners that ran past me. In the end, I'm still ahead of him.

After the event, we went to the nearby A Star coffee shop for breakfast before heading home.

Almost did a sub 1 hr for this 10km run. Was quite pleased with my result as this is my PB for 10km.

Will be back for next year Wave Run.
