TNF (The North Face) 100 2012.

This year decide to do only 25km. 50km is really too much for me without training and i do not want 3 black toe nails again.

Woke up at around 0510 hrs. Prepare all the stuffs the night before. Packed in 2 packets of powerbar gel. Have a floss bun with a cup of milo. Filled up water bag with ice and set off around 0600 hrs to take bus 156 two bus stop away. Managed to reach MacRitchie reservoir to see the 50km runners setting off at 0645 hrs. 25km will be flagged off at 0800 hrs.

Procced to the zig zag bridge to check in where they will check that we have bought the required 1L hydration. Sat down near the stage. Took pictures with Kok Meng, Lai Yin and Stanley as they arrived one after another.

During this time, the 100km Champion have finished his race even before our flag off. 100km runners was flagged off at 11pm last night. His finishing time is 8 hours and 40 minutes. Simply superb.

Proceed to pour my 100+ into my water bag and proceed to the start point.

This year route seems easier than last year. At the Bukit Timah section, we ran along the old KTM track instead of the mountain bike trail. One thing good about this year is the route are clearly marked and I did not missed any checkpoint. There was no doubt on where to run if there are 2 paths available.

After jogging and walking for around 22km, decide to just walk for the last 3km finishing just under 4 hours. Lai Yin and Stanley have completed their race and Kok Meng have left long ago.

Took sandwich and ate one ice-cream. Washed up and ate lunch at MacRitchie and call my wife to pick me up after the kids lesson.
