The next generation console has almost arrived. Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 will be available in Singapore on 19th December 2013. The PlayStation 4, with 500 GB storage, will cost S$639.
Sony will also be offering a pre-order package which will include the
PlayStation 4 with the PS Camera as well as one year regional warranty
and one month of PlayStation Plus service. The pre-order package is
priced at S$689. Pre-orders for the PlayStation 4 start tomorrow.
Die-hard gamers can also look forward to the Killzone Shadow Fall
bundle set and the Battlefield 4 bundle set. The Killzone Shadow Fall
bundle will be priced at S$699 and will include two months of
PlayStation Plus membership, a S$10 PSN card as well as one year of
regional warranty. The Battlefield 4 bundle set is more expensive and
will cost S$709. It will also include two months of PlayStation Plus
membership, S$10 PSN card as well as one year of regional warranty.
Sony has also released the pricing for the PlayStation 4 peripherals
available on release date. A DualShock 4 controller in either Jet Black,
Magma Red or Wave Blue will set you back by S$87.90 while the DualShock
4 charging station will cost $46.90. The PS Camera by itself is priced
at S$87.90 while a vertical stand for your new PlayStation 4 will cost
S$36.90.
The price for the PlayStation 4 in the US market had previously been
revealed to be US$399. Using currency conversion the same amount in
Singapore dollars roughly amounts to $500. There are many reason to pick the PlayStation 4 over the upcoming Xbox One.
However, it remains to be seen whether Sony's marked up local pricing
of the PlayStation 4 will dissuade gamers from purchasing it.
